Komen Puget Sound Executive Director David Richart

David joined Komen Puget Sound in January 2014. In his role as Executive Director, David oversees all Affiliate operations and is responsible for developing key strategies for the positioning and growth of the organization.

A Seattle resident since 1990, Richart brings extensive non-profit management experience to his leadership position with Komen Puget Sound. He has held executive director positions with the Seattle Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Northwest Treatment Centers, Recovery Centers of America and Olympic Centers.

“Having dedicated my 30-year career to supporting underserved communities that don’t otherwise have a voice, Komen Puget Sound was a natural next step for me,” says Richart. “I look forward to helping the Affiliate achieve its aggressive goals for women and families in our area.”

In his spare time, David is an enthusiastic gardener, kayaker and builder of Lego superheroes, with his grandson Lucas.

Tina joined Komen Puget Sound in January 2013 as development intern and became full-time development staff in September 2013. In her role, Tina coordinates the Grace Notes Gala and works as the Affiliate liaison for third party partnership events.

Tina holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Western Washington University and tries to visit Bellingham at least a few times a year. In her spare time, she enjoys being an auntie and spends as much time with her niece and nephew as possible. She also loves baking, doing crafts and DIY projects.

Catherine began volunteering with Komen in 2009 and joined the staff of Komen Puget Sound in August 2013. As office administrator, she provides valuable support for the Affiliate staff and the Board of Directors. Prior to joining the staff at Komen, she worked at a small business and volunteered at various community events around the Puget Sound area. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Catherine is a Seattle native and enjoys everything in the Pacific Northwest. In her free time, she enjoys running, cooking, traveling, and all things outdoors.

 

Elisa Del Rosario

In May of 2009 Elisa joined the Komen Puget Sound staff as the Program Manager and has since transitioned into the role of Director of Grants, Education & Advocacy. For more than twenty years, Elisa has worked in non-profits in health and human services, focusing on underserved and diverse populations.  She has worked for United Way of King County, the Human Services Roundtable and Asian Counseling & Referral Service (ACRS) in Seattle. Prior to joining the Puget Sound Affiliate, she was Capital Campaign Director and Development Director for twelve years at ACRS. 

As a breast cancer survivor, she feels blessed to have the opportunity to be a passionate advocate for women battling breast cancer and to further the mission of Susan G. Komen for the Cure --to save lives and end breast cancer forever. During treatment, Elisa rediscovered the healing powers of art.  In her spare time, she does arts & crafts projects, volunteers for local galleries and attends art fairs, shows and exhibits, especially those promoting emerging artists from diverse communities.  Elisa received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology from Occidental College.  She enjoys long walks, entertaining with her husband/chef Michael, raising their kids, Christopher and Beija, and taking care of their dog, Paco.

Silvia joined the Komen Puget Sound staff in May 2011 to coordinate the La Mujer Hispana Project. Funded by Yoplait Save the Lids to Save Lives ®, La Mujer Hispana (The Hispanic Woman) aims to increase breast cancer awareness and screening among Hispanic women in King and Pierce Counties. Her responsibilities expanded in April 2012 when Silvia became Community Outreach Coordinator. She now focuses on all cultures and communities within Puget Sound.

Silvia has more than 6 years experience working with underserved and diverse populations. Silvia is an active member of ELLF (Eastside Latino Leader Forum) and a member of the Diverse Advisor Committee for the City of Bellevue.

A native of Mexico, Silvia speaks fluent Spanish. She is passionate about other cultures especially their cuisine. Silvia lives in Bellevue with her husband and two children. Silvia likes to encourage her family to speak more Spanish, but also to learn the cultural values that the US has to offer.

 

Christi Ball Loso

Christi joined the staff of Komen Puget Sound in October 2014. In her role as Senior Public Relations Manager, Christi develops and executes strategic communications, marketing and media relations for the organization. She brings extensive experience from her communications work with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the March of Dimes Washington State Chapter, and she is a Master’s candidate in Strategic Communication through Washington State University.

In years past, Christi was a TV journalist at the NBC affiliate station in Austin while completing bachelor’s degrees in English and journalism at the University of Texas. She produced newscasts for stations in California and Seattle and won an Emmy award for a public affairs program. In hopes of saving lives and reducing the toll women’s cancers take on our society, Christi champions cancer research and the development of new and better early cancer detection tests. She loves volunteering for civic organizations and mothering (not smothering) a middle schooler and two reasonably domesticated cats. She enjoys live music, salsa dancing and travel, especially to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, to her native Texas or anywhere in southern Italy.

 

Jenn Nudelman

Jenn joined the Komen Puget Sound staff in February 2014 as its Director of Finance and Operations. In this role, she oversees finance, human resources, IT, and general operations of the office. Prior to joining Komen, Jenn spent over twenty years in private industry in the areas of finance, accounting, tax and audit. Jenn describes her position at Komen as her “dream job.” As a breast cancer survivor, this opportunity allows Jenn to marry her chosen profession with her passion for supporting breast health education, early detection, treatment and research.

Jenn holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Professional Accounting (Taxation) from the University of Washington and obtained her CPA in 2000. When not at work, Jenn volunteers her time helping rescue, rehabilitate and re-home special needs shar pei dogs. In addition, Jenn enjoys cooking gourmet meals with friends, live music, deck gardening, DIY projects and spending time with her dogs.

Marsha joined the Komen Puget Sound team in August of 2013 and manages the development and implementation of the organization’s digital messaging including social media, email communications and website content. She holds a BA in English from Duke University and has over ten years of professional experience with a focus in non-profit communications. Why Komen? “Because no one should feel alone in the fight against breast cancer. Communication is a key component of building community, and I’m so excited to be a part of that process.”

An avid traveler and outdoors enthusiast who relocated to the Seattle area from the East Coast, Marsha enjoys hitting the trail to appreciate the natural beauty of the Puget Sound region and the Pacific Northwest and still can’t get over views of “The Mountain.”

Jennifer (Jenni) came to Komen in January 2013. As a 22 year breast cancer survivor, Jenni has a personal passion for the Komen mission and young survivors. Her career path has led her to many executive and development positions with non-profits including the Sierra Club, Stanford University and the Nebraska Arts Council. 

Jenni is a world traveler, an avid Master’s swimmer and loves to cook. She and her husband, Rick, reside in Lake Forest Park with two old dogs and one puppy. They are the proud parents of three grown sons. Jenni holds a BA from San Francisco State University. 

 

Mary Kay TalbotMary Kay Talbot

Mary Kay joined the staff of Komen Puget Sound in January of 2011. Mary Kay began volunteering for Komen in 2001 after losing a friend/co-worker to breast cancer. She has served on the race committee in many roles, including 2004 race chair; on the affiliate board of directors, and on several grant review panels.  She has spent most of her professional life in academia, working as a staff research scientist in oceanography at the University of Washington, and in horticulture at Edmonds Community College. Mary Kay has a BS in Oceanography from the University of Washington and an ATA in Horticulture from Edmonds CC. 

Mary Kay and her husband, Dave, live in Woodinville and are both Seattle natives and UW alumni. They enjoy boating, traveling to warm sunny places, including their vacation home on Priest Rapids Lake in eastern WA, and are season ticket holders for the Seattle Seahawks. Mary Kay also volunteers with the Snohomish County Master Gardener program and does fundraising for the Seattle Aquarium.

Jennifer joined the staff of Komen Puget Sound in February of 2011. Her prior employment includes ten years coordinating volunteer and neighborhood programs for the City of Federal Way and working as a Police Service Specialist for the Renton Police Department for eight years. Jennifer holds a BA from Western Washington University in Business Marketing with a Minor in Communications. Reading, craft projects and pickleball are some of Jennifer’s favorite activities. She also enjoys travelling with her husband and three teenagers.

Being a breast cancer survivor herself, Jennifer has a special passion for Komen’s mission – “a world without breast cancer.” She feels blessed to be able to connect with other survivors while working toward eliminating this disease for future generations.
