Komen Puget Sound Appointments New Board Members

SEATTLE – March 23, 2011 –The Puget Sound Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is pleased to announce the addition of two new board members: Kathleen Hogan and Nancy Koeper. 

As Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Services, Kathleen Hogan leads a global team of more than 17,000 professionals in 80 countries who are dedicated to helping businesses and individual consumers maximize the value of their investment in Microsoft technologies. Under her leadership, Microsoft Services touches customers more than 700 million times a year, helping them meet their business and personal objectives by effectively deploying and maintaining generations of existing software and services. Previously, Hogan was Corporate Vice President of Customer Service and Support and a partner with the consulting firm McKinsey & Co. in Silicon Valley.

Nancy Koeper is President of UPS’s Northwest District, which includes facilities in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. With over 14,000 employees, the Northwest District is the largest land territory for UPS. Koeper is responsible for delivery operations, customer relationship management, and revenue management of nearly $2 billion annually. She has been involved with the United Way of King County and serves on the Board of Directors for the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, as well as the Association of Washington Business. Breast cancer awareness is a cause Nancy has been supporting for nearly 20 years. After losing her mother to breast cancer, she has been actively involved with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and completed the 3-Day Walk in Atlanta in 2003.

“We are excited to welcome two strong additions to our board of directors and are looking forward to their contributions,” said Joni Earl, board of director’s president for the Puget Sound Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and Sound Transit Chief Executive Officer.  “Both individuals bring unique expertise that will help our Puget Sound Affiliate continue to grow.”

The Komen Puget Sound Affiliate continues its commitment to finding a cure for breast cancer and supporting survivors in the Puget Sound area.
