Awarded Charity Navigator’s Highest Rating for Fifth Consecutive Year and Placed in Top Two of Most Valuable Nonprofit Brands in Harris Interactive Poll
SEATTLE – APRIL 7, 2011 - Top rankings from the nation’s leading charity evaluator and a separate national poll this week reaffirmed the stewardship and trustworthiness of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the world’s largest breast cancer organization. The local Komen Puget Sound Affiliate was founded in 1993 and has invested nearly $23 million to fund local breast health education, screening and treatment support in Western Washington and for groundbreaking research to find the cure for breast cancer.
Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator, reported that Komen for the Cure had earned a prestigious four-star rating for the fifth consecutive year, a feat achieved by only 5 percent of the nation’s nonprofit organizations. Komen for the Cure was also ranked by Harris Interactive as one of the most valuable and trusted nonprofit brands

A fifth consecutive four-star rating from the nation’s largest and most relied-upon evaluator of charities assures current and potential donors that Komen for the Cure consistently excels in financial stewardship of donors’ funds.
