From the moment a person's breast cancer diagnosis is confirmed, she or he is considered a survivor. Race day is an opportunity for us to recognize our survivors for their bravery, and to show them how much they are loved, cherished, and respected. Please read on to learn more about survivor activities on Race day!
Top Fundraising Survivor is Queen for the Day!
The Queen for the Day designation goes to our top fundraising survivor! The second and third runner-up will be her Royal Court. The Queen and her Court will be crowned during the closing ceremonies of the Race.
Her Royal Highness will also be awarded with a prize fit for a queen which includes: an overnight stay in the MarQueen Hotel in Queen Anne, brand new luggage to pack her overnight necessities, a spa package to relax before the big day, and dinner at Mercer 10.

Complimentary Pink Cap & T-shirt
All breast cancer survivors are invited to wear a complimentary pink cap and pink T-shirt on Race day. Caps and t-shirts are provided by Zeta Tau Alpha and are available for pick-up at the Komen Puget Sound Health Expo on Saturday, June 5 at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. 
Survivor medals will be handed out at the finish line of the Race.
Survivor Celebration Tent
Breast cancer survivors are invited to visit the Survivor Celebration Tent for photos, grab-n-go breakfast, goody bags and an excellent view of the Race Day festivities! The celebration tent will be located on the Fisher Pavilion rooftop and will open at 7AM.
Survivor Parade
Breast Cancer Survivors are encouraged to participate in our annual Survivor Parade. Seeing 1,000 survivors walking together will give those diagnosed much needed hope and encouragement. Survivors that wish to participate in the parade should meet fellow survivors at the Survivor Tent at 10:40 am. The Survivor Parade will begin promptly at 11:15 am. Enjoy the parade of pink, around the International Fountain and kick of the Closing Ceremonies. At the closing of the parade there will be a photo opportunity of all the survivors together. This photo may be purchased at our Komen Store, buy now!
How to Designate Your Survivor Status
If you wish to be recognized as a breast cancer survivor and participate in our survivor activities on Race day, please designate yourself as a survivor when you register for the Race.
Forgot to designate yourself as a survivor in registration? No problem, please email Race2010@pskomen.org and we will gladly update your status.

Share Your Survivor Photo or Tribute Photo of a Loved One Lost
Would you like to have your photo featured on our Survivor or Tribute slideshow? You can choose to share photos two ways, via email and via Flickr.
1) Via Email
Submitting a photo to the group is as easy as sending an email. Really! All you have to do is email your photo to Race2010@pskomen.org . In the email subject line, write the title of your photo. In the body of the email, say the photo is for Flickr and write the description of your photo, your first and (optional) last name. Let us know if you want it to be added specifically to the following albums:
• Breast Cancer Survivor Album
• Breast Cancer Tribute Album
• Race for the Cure Puget Sound
When you hit "Send" the photo will be added to the Komen Puget Sound Flickr page and the “Susan G. Komen for the Cure Puget Sound” group photo pool.
2) Directly to Flickr
You can follow these simple steps to post photos to the “Susan G. Komen for the Cure Puget Sound” group:
1. Sign up for a free Flickr account <http://www.flickr.com> then join our “Susan G. Komen for the Cure Puget Sound” group.
2. Upload your photo to Flickr. Under privacy options, choose “public,” and put in the following tag, “Race for the Cure Puget Sound.”
Remember to add a sentence explaining what the photo shows, along with your first and (optional) last name, city and country.
3. Click on the Flickr photo you'd like to submit. Open the “Send to Group” icon above the photo and you should see a list of groups you belong to. Select “Susan G. Komen for the Cure Puget Sound." A message will appear that your photo has been added. Click “ok.”
4. Joining Flickr assures you'll be able to see all of the photos posted to this group, as the photos of new members are only visible to other logged-in members.
